Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil / butter
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 lime’s worth of lime juice
  • 1 pinch lime zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon chili oil
  • 1 can pinto beans (don’t drain)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional Ingredients

  • Your favorite dried chili pepper (they sell bags of dried chilis at the grocery store).

Steps

  1. Heat up a pan with the olive oil or butter (or both) on low-medium heat.
  2. When the pan is heated up, add the garlic, lime juice, lime zest, cumin, chili powder, and chili oil. Also add your favorited dried chili at this point if you decided to get a bag of those. I throw it in whole and let it simmer in the sauce.
  3. Stir around for a minute or so and then add the beans with bean juice.
  4. Let the beans simmer for about 5-10 mintutes.
